"The Canterbury Tales" by Geoffrey Chaucer A facsimile of the famous tales by Chaucer, reproduced from a copy owned by Pepys. Produced 1972 by Cornmarket Reprints in association with Magdalene College, Cambridge. Caxton's second printing published in 1484; woodcuts of the main characters and a "Prohemye" or introduction by Caxton; red illuminated initials within the text. Large heavy volume; green linen boards with scarlet panel and gilt details to spine; boards and spine faded and front board lightly stained but internally as new, tightly bound and with all pages clean, clear and bright.
