The Colony by Iles Brody. Portrait of a restaurant and its famous recipes. The Colony was a restaurant in New York that was founded in 1923 and closed in 1971. It became a fashionable haunt of New York society. This book contains a history of the restaurant and a number of recipes from its menu. 'Illes Brody 1899 - 1953 was a Hungarian-born journalist and writer who lived in the United States from the 1930s. After a false start as a portrait artist, he became known as a food writer and gourmet' Pink cloth boards with gilt lettering. Original dust jacket (clipped) slight tears and heavy foxing/tanning. Internally good with foxing and tanning to page edges.
