2-volume work published by Macmillan in 1982, this is Nicholas Mansergh's comprehensive work on the history of the Commonwealth. Volume I deals with the period from the Durham report to the Anglo-Irish agreement, volume II, from British to Multi-racial Commonwealth. The author, Philip Nicholas Seton Mansergh was a historian. His focus was on Ireland and the British Commonwealth. As the Professor of Commonwealth History at Cambridge University after 1953, he trained many of the specialists in the field of Irish, Indian, and Commonwealth studies. Paperback. Illustrated limp boards. Some sun-fading, edge wear and spine creasing, but overall, good condition. Internally, unmarked condition throughout. Vol i: 275pp, Vol II: 299pp
