We are delighted to have sourced this lovely set that not only offers a beautiful wooden chess set but also a matching set of draughts counters making it an ideal set to enjoy at home or to give away for a special occasion gift.Constructed from painted lime wood, this chess cabinet is designed and flock lined to store each chess piece individually along with the counters to keep them safe whilst not in play.The removable chess board lid is painstakingly inlaid with walnut and maple veneers and makes a perfect battlefield for the chess men. Crafted from boxwood and ebonised boxwood, these pieces are a more simplistic take on the Staunton design and complement the board perfectly. The king is just shy of 3 inches at 2.95 inches and all pieces have billiard covered bases and are weighted for perfect balance. The draughts counters are also crafted from boxwood and ebonised boxwood and are 28 mm in diameter.
