Disc in very good condition, case in very good condition. Drama directed by Sidney Lumet, based on the novel 'Call for the Dead' by John le Carr. Charles Dobbs (James Mason) is a British intelligence officer who is sent to investigate an anonymous letter sent to the Foreign Secretary accusing a key officer, Samuel Fennan (Robert Flemyng), of communist affiliation. When Fennan commits suicide Dobbs begins to suspect that his wife, a concentration camp survivor, may hold the key to his despair. But the Foreign Office wants to drop the case so Dobbs hires soon-to-retire Detective Inspector Mendel (Harry Andrews) to delve further into the circumstances behind Fennan 's death - which turn out to be more sinister than Dobbs could have imagined.
