Published 1927 by George Routledge & Sons in it Broadway Travellers series. Hardback. Red cloth board covers with gilt lettering on spine. Very faded and with damp marks along cover edges. Some foxing on inside pages which are also tanned with age. Binding still secure. Overall condition is fair. This is the diary of a chaplain on board HMS Bristol and Royal Oak in the period 1675-1679. Edited by Sir Denison Ross from the original manuscript. Notes by G. E. Manwaring. Eight b&w plates. A fascinating inside into life on a Royal Navy ship in the late seventeenth century.
