Rare, first English edition of The Forgotten Isles: Impressions of Travel in the Balearic Isles, Corsica and Sardinia. Rendered into English by Frederic Breton and with 167 illustrations by the author. Previously owned and showing signs of shelf wear. Front cloth cover has gilt image of author. Covers are faded and scuffed with bumps to corners. Spine has long tear and is frayed in places, with piece missing from top. Minor foxing to first few pages and to some page edges but overall the interior of the book is clean and bright. Binding is tight.
