The Goss And Crested China Story: How We Made Goss Great Again! (signed By Author Nicholas Pine)

Merchant's Category: Media> Books
The collecting of Goss and crested china became a craze in the late Victorian and Edwardian times. With the advent of railways and holidays for workers, a new souvenir market emerged. After the First World War, trade declined rapidly, and the depression of the 1930s finished it off. The nation then spent the next thirty years boxing Goss china up and storing it in attics or throwing it away. Nicholas Pine first started to deal in Goss china at the age of 19 in 1967. Although his main business was property, he embarked upon becoming the leading dealer in his chosen field, a position achieved by 1974, when with his then wife Lynda, he formed Goss and Crested China Ltd. He commenced researching, writing about and accumulating original archive material right from the start. Here, he has decided to set down the story of the re-popularisation of Goss china after World War II and the instrumental part he and others played in it. Signed by author Nicholas Pine. Book is like new, with very clean and bright pages plus a great cover.
