The full title reads: The Historical Geography of the Holy Land Especially in Relation to the History of Israel and of the Early Church. Seventh edition 1900. Dark green cloth hard covers with gilt titles on the spine. Bumping at the top and base of the spine, white speckling marks on the lower part of the spine, mild shelf wear to the covers plus a small bump on the fore edge of the front board. Front hinge cracked at the pastedown, small owner sticker on the front pastedown, short comment on the reverse of the front pastedown. Foxing on the fly title page and the last couple of endpapers. Page edges untrimmed all round. Occasional small pencil ticks in the page margins. Colour map of Palestine in a pocket at the end of the volume, pull-out colour map of the Semitic World as frontispiece, four other maps (three of them pull-out/colour) in the text. The three pull-out maps in the text all have an old Sellotape repair at their top right corner where the map folds down. The text block binding is good, text pages are lightly tanned around the margins. Very heavy book.
