(Full title) The History Of Rochford Hundred: From Former Authors, Ancient Manuscripts And Church Registers. Vol. 3, No. 62. Sutton. Rochford Hundred was the administrative centre for Rochford until it was abolished the existence of 'hundreds' in the 1894 Local Government Act. This small book covers the history of Sutton in particular exploring church registers, the Clergy, traditions, superstitions and social life during the existence of Rockford Hundred. This book is an interesting insight to local histories, which usually get overshadowed by 'mainstream' history. This book is in very good condition. The blue paper cover has slight sun bleaching on the spine and creasing on spine from use. This copy is signed by the author on the inside of the cover in black ink, but rest of the book is clean. Very sound binding.
