The Imperial Illustrated Bible; Containing The Old And New Testaments According To The Authorised Version; With Marginal References And Illustrations; Evangelical Reflections, And Numerous Explanatory Notes; By The Reverend John Brown: And Critical And Explanatory Notes With Concluding Remarks On Each Book, Prepared For This Edition Exclusively, By The Rev. J. B. Patterson, And The Rev. A. S. Patterson. A. Fullerton And Co., This undated family Bible is in good condition. There are no internal markings or annotations. The text pages are for the most part clean with bright paper and clear font. There is evidence of foxing. This is relatively light and affects mainly the edges of the text block. Some has crept inwards onto the faces of the pages but it doesn't make the text unreadable or obscure any illustrations. We shall photograph some pages for closer inspection. The edges of the text block are gilt. The pages continue to sit together well, free from creasing, crumpling and tearing. Externally, this book is bound in black calf with both gilt and blind stamped decoration over both covers. The faces of the covers have recorded some scratches and scuffs. Being such a large, heavy and somewhat unwieldy book, these scuffs might be expected. There is wear around the edges of the covers and at the corners the boards are exposed. The spine looks in good condition with its lettering and decoration still vibrant. Both of this book's hinges are intact, the binding feels tight and there are no loose or missing pages. This is a used book in good condition. (PLEASE NOTE: This is a large and heavy item. Due to its weight, it will be dispatched by courier.)
