The Life of John William Walshe F.S.A. - Montgomery Carmichael (ed) John Murray. First edition 1902. pp 266. Uninspiring blue cloth, half bound to spine in chestnut. Once glorious gilt spine decoration but now the spine is torn and there is a patch missing (2 cm). Museum Bollandianum plate to paste down. Personal dedication by Carmichael to end paper. It is prettily written but hard to read. Xmas 1903. Tipped in engraved image of a religious figure (in Latin). Tissue guard to title page. The introduction informs the reader that Carmichael was a family friend who was bequeathed the family manuscripts etc. Good binding. All pages tanned. There is a flyer loose inside the block for The Lady Poverty, another Murray title, published 1902.
