The Modern Pictorial World Atlas, published by New Zealand Newspapers Limited. Undated c. 1939. 64 maps in full colour, 67 photographs in gravure of the Peoples of the Earth and 120pp. gazetteer, text and index. Dark brown leather effect boards, blind stamped on the front with the earth depicted in the middle of a circle with radiating lines representing the rays of the sun. The endpapers are decorated with green maps of the world. The front hinge is broken. The binding remains relatively tight. The print block is clean but the first seven pages are foxed and the loose end paper creased. Stamped in small print on the third page is 'copyright E 239'. The front paste down endpaper bears an ink inscription dated 1939. Inscriptions & markings
