Merchant: Oxfam
Merchant's Category: Media> Books
'The following pages have been compiled...to meet a want that has been long felt by members of the Vestry. The Trustees of the Parish Estates are possessed of considerable Funds, arising from Freehold property bequeathed, some of it probably more than 400 years ago.....' This provides a history of the church and a statement of its wealth in much detail. There are 11 drawings, some in colour and one of which is a map of City of London after the Great Fire of 1666. Believed to be by Arthur G Trower who has penned a dedication to Mr A Day dated Jan 1879 on the flyleaf. There is also an owners name plate on the inside cover of William John Mercer. The cloth cover has split both sides of the top of the spine. There is staining on the inside of the cover and flyleaf. Front pages are coming loose from the binding. The rest of the book, including the drawings is in very good condition.
