This book is concerned with two aspects of Romano-British names: their identification and their linguistic aspects. Part One comprises literary references to place names, Ptolemy's geography, the Peutinger table, the Antonine Itineraries, the Ravenna cosmography and the Notitia Dignitatum, Part Two is an alphabetical list of names, for each giving the sources, identification and linguistic derivation. Ex-library, from California State University, Hayward Library. Card pocket on fep, barcode on ffep, with library name stamped at bottom of this page. Rear endpaper looks to have held a date-stamp label or perhaps a Reference Only label, as glue residue remains. Library name also stamped on top coloured edge. No dustjacket. Dark blue cloth, with title in gilt on spine. Spine also has barcode attached, perhaps from another bookseller, and hides what appears to be the library classmark label. Spine is bumped at top and bottom. Board covers have marks and signs of wear. Library stamp on title page verso, as well as library classmark. Text is clean.
