Very small, tan leather covered, two volume book with gilt decoration to the front and back covers and to the spine. A small part to the top of the spine is missing, there are general signs of wear and the corners are lightly bumped but considering its age it is in very good condition. The end papers are marbled, a name is inscribed on the nest page. There are two engravings at the start of each volume, the first of which is the works of Oliver Goldsmith and the second of the works of James Beattie. Published in 1809 by J Sharpe and both volumes collated by Thomas Park. n On the title page is states: "LONDON: Printed at the Stanhope Press, by Charles Whittingham, 103 Goswell Street, FOR J. SHARPE, OPPOSITE ALBANY, PICCADILLY; AND SOLD BY W. SUTTABY, STATIONERS' COURT, LUDGATE STREET; AND TAYLOR AND HESSEY, FLEET STREET."
