One of two volumes Half bound boards with marbled covers & red leather corners & spine. Five raised spines with gilt title. Some age related shelf wear scuffs to corners & the head/tail of spine & edges. No dust jacket. A neat name sticker on front paste down of a heraldic shield for a Robert Francis Wilson. Printing edition not listed but Circa 1837. Two plates are dated 1835. Frontispiece of Nantes, otherwise book very similar to the first volume. Text written in French and English with engraved plates by Turner. Plates published by J McCormick. Some heavy foxing in places to certain pages & plates, particularly the end papers. Overall the pages & plates have fared a lot better. Originally published in 1837 by Longman Eees Brown Green & Longman. Book in good condition for its age, Well hinged & bound with a tight stitched binding.
