A first edition history book outlining the history of the Scottish town of Ayr, titled "The Royal Burgh of Ayr, Seven Hundred and Fifty Years of History". This copy is in good condition and has its original dustjacket (which still retains the old price section, having been priced at 12 Shillings and 6 pence), albeit quite age-worn. The text is in fully readable condition, with clean pages and strong binding. One illustrated plate that was originally between the "Foreword" and "Preface" sections has been carefully cut out of the book (likely by scissors), presumably by the original owner. All other pages and illustrations are intact.
