The Royal Game of Ur is a two player strategy game that originated thousands of years ago back in ancient Mesopotamia. It's classed as a two player strategy race board game. It's also known as 'The Game of Twenty squares' Made in Spain Superb quality Supplied in lovely gift box Excellent standard of finish The game was very popular in the Middle East but died out, possibly due to a preference for Backgammon. In the 1920s it was re discovered during an excavation at the Royal Cemetery of Ur, hence it's current name. Other versions of the game have been discovered in buried ruins in the Middle East. This version has been lovingly crafted in Spain by a company called Pico Pau. They are a long established producer of exquisite and high quality traditional games. They have crafted this set in solid wood with a finely detailed graphic silk printed onto the surface. The quality of finish is akin to a high end European made luxury game product.
