Ivy League student Luke McNamara (Joshua Jackson) is surprised to find himself inducted into the elitist campus society The Skulls, as he does not come from a wealthy or powerful family. However, he is a top-notch academic and athlete, and soon finds himself befriended by many influential people, including senior Skull Senator Levritt and Caleb Mandrake (Paul Walker), whose father runs the group. When Luke's roommate - journalism student Will - is found dead after an apparent suicide, Luke discovers that he was in fact murdered by Caleb for daring to research an article on the Skulls. Working with his non-Skull friends, Luke now sets about trying to bring down the corrupt group that has welcomed him to its bosom.
