The Story Of Farfield Mill Restoration - How We Did It
Merchant: Oxfam
Merchant's Category: Media> Books
Maureen Lamb, Richard Thomas, Tony and Sue Johnson, David Booth and Winifred Howarth came together in 1993 to try to find a way of saving from dereliction a Victorian woollen mill in Sedbergh, Cumbria. After eight years of hopes and setbacks Farfield Mill was opened to the public in 2001. Today it celebrates the skill and dedication of craftsmen and designers, past and present, in their creation of industrial or hand made items of beauty, whether in clay or wood, in silver or bronze, in paint or most importantly in textiles. The Farfield Mill Arts and Heritage Centre is now home to outstanding artists and craftsmen of north-west England who work there or display there. This book tells the story of how it was done. Signed by author. Pages are in fine condition, cover is in very good condition Some pencil annotations on some pages Small stain on page 106-107 borders Cover corners are a little worn
