Ten-year-old Edward finds his visits to Grandad Wilson's house a bit of a trial - especially when Great Aunt Spud is there fussing away. She's there today, and Grandad Wilson is being as rude and awkward as ever - refusing to let her dust his silver pocket watch or the fading brown photo which Edward loves. It shows two boys - Grandad Wilson and his friend Futter - by a river with an oar and an old-fashioned pram. But it's the cloth cap, floating in the air between them, that intrigues Edward. What's it doing there? Who does it belong to? Now, at last, the mystery is about to be solved, as Grandad Wilson takes Edward on a magical and entertaining trip back in time to 1919 and the day the picture was taken!;His first picture book story, "Quacky Quack-Quack!" (illustrated by Russell Ayto, published by Walker Books), was shortlisted for the 1991 Smarties Book Prize. He has also written another story for young readers, "Holly and the Skyboard". Name of previous owner inside front cover.
