The War of Ideas in Contemporary International Relations: The Imperialist Doctrine, Methods and Organisation of Foreign Political Propaganda - Georgi Arbatov, translated from the Russian by David Skvirsky. Published by Progress Publishers, Moscow, Hardback with dust jacket, 1973. Written from a communist point of view, this book was published at the time when the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) still existed. The USSR being a flagship communist state, it was nominally a federal union of fifteen national republics;[q] in practice, both its government and its economy were highly centralized until its final years, and existed from 1922 to 1991. Born in 1923, Georgi Arbatov was a Corresponding Member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR and Doctor of Historical Sciences, and worked in the Foreign Literature Publishing House in Moscow. Condition: Fair. The pages are tightly bound, with some tanning and foxing on the end papers and around the page edges. The dust jacket is studded with dirty marks on the front, back and spine, especially the fore-edge. The cellophane on the dust jacket is coming away slightly on the back cover near the spine.
