The Waverley Novels, Centenary Edition Condition: Good. All of the 25 volumes are tanned at the spine, with a little rubbing to the corners. A little age-toning to the edges of the text block. Volume 16 is missing the spine (the leather bits are inside the book for safe keeping, the front right hand corner is missing some of the leather as well. Volume 20 has some minor spine damage.Text complete, clean and tight but a little age-tanned. All Books have an ex libris stuck to the Front Paste Down. Contains: Steel engravings; Frontispiece to each volume; Marbled end papers & blanks; Top edge gilt; Scottish writer and poet Sir Walter Scott was an extremely popular Regency-era author, both at home and abroad. A few of his most well-known novels are referred to as the Waverley Novels and include Waverley, which was the first in the series. Published anonymously in 1814, it was Scott's first venture into prose fiction. Other novels in the series include Ivanhoe and Rob Roy.
