Hazel, also known as Cobnut, produces a fresh, dense covering of lush green foliage every year, forming the perfect screen for your boundaries as well as effectively filtering noise pollution from nearby roads. This low maintenance hedge is unfussy and easy to grow, thriving in most locations without any trouble at all. It's also highly versatile and happy to be hard pruned to any shape or size, then maintained to shape with annual clipping. This simple but effective variety boasts the added bonus of edible hazelnuts once established, plus a lovely show of autumn colour. Supplied as 60 - 90 cm bareroots (24 - 35"). Planting distance: 30cm (12") or 4 plants per metre for a single line hedge. Prior to planting Hazelnut trees, incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil.
