Topographical Bibliography of Ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphic Texts, Reliefs and Paintings. Volume I: The Theban Necropolis. Part II: Royal Tombs and Smaller Cemeteries. Volumes I-VIII of this bibliography show the working archaeologist where to find published and unpublished records of ancient Egyptian monuments which still exist on their original sites or at least can be traced to a definite provenance, the references being arranged according to the fullest topographical detail; but the ordinary visitor to Egypt also will find much to interest him in the numerous plans and descriptions. The first two volumes contain the account of Thebes, the greatest centre of surviving Egyptian remains; the third deals with the monuments of Memphis, with its vast necropolis of pyramids and tombs; the fourth with Lower and middle Egypt from the Delta to Asyut. The fifth and sixth volumes cover respectively the sites and chief temples of Upper Egypt; and the seventh Nubia, the Deserts and countries outside Egypt. The eighth volume lists statues of provenance not known. Very good condition. Minor signs of shelf wear including slight fading to the spine of the unclipped dust jacket and very minor creasing to the top of the jacket. However the text is clean, the binding is secure and there are otherwise no significant marks or damage.
