The Stitzel-Weller Distillery is the stuff of Bourbon legend. It was founded on Derby Day in 1935 by Julian "Pappy" Van Winkle himself and some of the most legendary and sought-after Bourbons and brands were made there. The distillery itself was closed in 1992, but don't worry, though -- there's still plenty of leftover Bourbon in the storage. If you can manage to elbow your way past all the devotees of the Cult of Pappy... At 12 years of age, this Kentucky Straight Bourbon delivers everything you've come to expect from a Van Winkle: soft, gentle, sweet. Cautionary note: because of the high demand, there's only a handful of them left. *This bottle is a collector's item.
