A beautiful and majestic hand blown glass vase with a swirling brown design on a cobalt blue ground 19 cms (7.5") high, 18 cms (7"), wide. Signed "Julia Donnelly 1991" above ground glass base. Attached business card " Julia Donnelly - Hot Glass - Apple Market, Covent Garden" shows its provenance. Julia Donnelly took up glass blowing at Peter Layton's London Glass Blowing Workshop in Rotherhithe, East London in 1985. She left in 1990 to work on her own account and sold her glass to shops and galleries around the country, including Liberty in London. She also had a stall at Covent Garden Apple Market which she has described as "great fun". She gave up glass blowing in 2000 to concentrate on lamp-work glass bead making. In excellent "as new" condition with no cracks or blemishes. Heavy (1.5 kilos) so will be sent by courier; hence additional delivery charge.
