Petra Clarijs werd voor de eerste wereldoorlog te Amsterdam geboren. Zij bezocht daar get Barlaeus-gymnasium en studeerde aan de universiteit van Amsterdam. Na de oorlog was zij verbonden aan het bureau van de Rijksinspecteur voor Roerende Monumenten en momenteel is zij directrice van de Gemeentemusea te Deventer. Petra Clarijs was born in Amsterdam before the First World War. She attended the Barlaeus Gymnasium there and studied at the University of Amsterdam. After the war she was attached to the office of the State Inspector for Movable Monuments and she is currently director of the Municipal Museums in Deventer.
