The price-clipped dust jacket has been encased in a plastic cover, through there is visible tearing and rubbing along the edges and to the top and bottom of the dustjacket's spine. A small tear to part of the illustration on the front cover. Foxing to the inside of the dustjacket. Fading to parts of the clothbound boards and the spine. A small dedication and date written at the bottom of the front flypaper. Minor foxing, mostly confined to the page fore-edges and the title page. Tightly bound. A Journal of the Perry River Expedition of 1949. The principal object of the expedition was to study the birds of a region difficult of access and hitherto unvisited by a party of scientists. The Perry River area was chosen because it was known to be near the breeding sites of geese and other wildfowl - especially of the rare Ross's goose, a species threatened by extinction. With thirty-seven illustrations and three maps.
