9th-10th June, 2018; Shelsley Walsh Hillclimb. Glossy brochure (A4). Leading corners slightly bent/curled, but otherwise in very good condition. No lettering on spine. Introductory article by Philip Porter. Full of photographs of glorious Jaguar cars, with articles including some on restoration, interviews and vintage (& modern) advertisements. Article on Alan Fearnley's paintings with Jaguar cars. Reproduces the 1998 interview by Philip Porter with Bob Knight, the XK's designer. More on the history of the cars and of the Midland Motoring Club and the event, and the two-day programme for the 2018 meeting, which also hosted a Battle of Britain flypast, which has a three page article. Shelsley Walsh (Worcestershire) is the oldest motorsport venue in the world still to run events on the original course, and is older than Indianapolis, Le Mans or Monza. Since it was first used on 12th August 1905 - when the Midland Automobile Club had to find an alternative venue to Sun Rising Hill, near Stratford-upon-Avon - the Club has run hill climbs at Shelsley Walsh, so making it the oldest motor sport event still held on its original course. The start line, the corners, the views are essentially the same.
