The Sailor's Farewell large teapot, with its traditional shape and generous handle is a key piece in the collection, crafted in silky white fine bone china with a delicate pale blue finish echoing the original linen fabric, embellished with a stronger blue and intricate hand painted 22 carat gold details. It features Kit Kemp's unique illustrative style depicting the Sailor's farewell story with witty motifs including the rust red sails of his ship passing by a whale and a curious octopus below the depths. Backstamped for authenticity and beautifully presented in a signature Wedgwood blue box, this large teapot makes a charming and original gift and forms part of the tea ware used within The Whitby Hotel in New York and Ham Yard Hotel in London, co-owned by Kit Kemp.
