Time wasters and liars - I ordered a pair of squash shoes for 45 from them in January 2010. Didn't receive on time so called them a number of times. Every time I was told that my shoes have been sent out on a specific date which was different with every phone call. When I called for the 4th time AFTER 3 WEEKS (!!!) and I heared the same story again I asked for the tracking number. I was then told "oh sorry, I meant they will be sent out today". Requested a refund - yet still no shoes and no money...
Dealt mostly with [edit: contact directly for details] if anyone's interested.

In early summer this year I ordered around 80 of plants from the Gardening Express website. After a month of waiting for the plants to arrive I tried to contact the company. I never received a reply to any of my numerous emails and there was never an answer when I called the phone number on their website. Obviously feeling that something was not quite right I googled the company and through websites like this found that I am not the only one to have had problems! I contacted my credit card provider who were great - the money was refunded. I also contacted Trading Standards who logged the complaint but said that unfortunately they cannot investigate a company without a sufficient number of customer complaints. So if you have been unfortunate enough to have had a bad experience, please report it!

What prompted me to post a review all these months later is that on Monday this week I received a newsletter email from Gardening Express asking me to "check out our new and exclusive plants and offers" Of course, they may have changed their ways, but I would not take the risk of finding that out. Why on earth would I want to place another order with a company that basically stole 80 from me?!

Airline lost my luggage for 5 days. Had to spend about 100 euro on clothes and essentials until my bag was returned (HALF what was allowed under my cover). My spare insulin was in my main bag. When my main supply failed, I had to go to hospital in Greece to get a new batch.
Back in London, I was told (BY THEIR SUPPORT LINE) to submit 2 claims, 1 for essentials and 1 for medic cover under the same policy. They rejected the medical claim (full doctor + medial receipts) saying it was my fault for not having a spare set (IN MY LOST BAGS!!) ... as for the essentials claim, 3 weeks later I got a letter saying Im suppose to claim from the airline first, then from them. Also, that the receipt for a backpack to hold all my new clothes (18 euro) and a receipt for underwear (5 euro) was missing. Funny, because they were the top 2 receipts sent back in the envelope, proving that not only do they not honour their policies, they actually cant read. STAY AWAY!!! COMPLEYELY DISINGENUOUS, UNHELPFULL and in the end, COPLETELY USELESS AND A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY.

This is the most dishonest incompetent supplier I have dealt with in years. Fast to take money, but WILL NOT give it back, just occasionally respond saying they have when they haven't. Luckily I paid by Amex, so I got them to step in and recover the money. I will investigate ways to stop them trading.

Do not go anywhere near them under any circumstances.

Please don't use this company. My most recent order with them was infuriating and tantamount to theft. I placed a large order of 100 and was told it had not gone through, so then spent considerable time redoing it. The order arrived and several of the plants were in bad nick. I couldn't get through to anyone so gave up trying to let them know. The ticket system was baffling. Two months later, I got an e-mail saying my order had been despatched. What they did was to take the money for the unprocessed order from April, but say it hadn't gone through and so effectively took the order twice. (Note I didn't get two e confirmations.) So now I'm stuck with goods I already have, and which I've got no room for. They will not collect the goods and say it is up to me to return them - not cost effective as there are about 12 boxes - so I am left with the dilemma, do I open the boxes and water the plants knowing they will not ever give me my money back if I do, or do I let them perish? Something tells me I'm going to be the one losing out either way. Who on earth has time for this hassle? On the positive note, at least I can replace the plants that died shortly after arriving with me. DO NOT USE.

I wish I'd seen these reviews before placing an order for 60.65 on 20th April 2009. Apart from an order acknowledgement I've had no communication from the company despite me raising a "ticket" to ask for the whereabouts of my order. No answer from phone line. No note to explain delay. But my money was taken on the day of my order. I am now disputing the payment through my bank and thinking of reporting these cowboys to Watchdog. Seems as though this is a complete scam and fraud.

I can confirm that this company hasn't improved. My advice is: don't use them!!

I ordered some plants on 20th April at a cost of 35 and, three weeks later, haven't received the plants or any explanation.

I can't get through to them and am worried that my money is lost. The
website says that I must raise a support ticket but it isn't working.
The email address for the customer services is defunct. I've left a
message on the owner's email but haven't heard anything. I've sent a letter to their registered office.

They have a glossy website but take your money and don't deliver. Don't use them!

There don't seem to be any recent reviews of this website, which is why I am writing this. Basically, whoever runs Gardening Express has a nice little scam going. They take your money for your order, they pretend that they have shipped the goods and then BAM! You never hear from them, you can't get through on the phones, they don't respond to answerphone messages and they don't reply to emails. Stay well away from these jokers, I wish I had.

We wanted a quality glasshouse in which we could include a partition to have part greenhouse and part conservatory. Looking at three vendors - two national and one local, Hartley Botanic came out top in terms of look and value for money. We visited two reference installations in our area and the materials used - glass, metalwork and even the gaskets used to install the glass were first class. The final stamp of approval was from the people whose Hartley glasshouses we visited who praised both the sales team and their installation teams.

We went ahead with our order. The sales process was very smooth with Hartley suggesting we hold off from ordering a complete set of blinds from them as we may not need them all.

Even though we had to move the installation date three times due to a combination of bad weather delaying the site preparation and our builder putting the entrance in the retaining base wall in the wrong place (thank heaven I did a final check against the drawings Hartley Botanic provided!) Hartley could not have been more helpful. To help us get back on track they had two installation teams assemble the glasshouse in double quick time and all the guys could not have been more helpful and professional and tidied up so well that we had friends around the same evening to christen the conservatory section and to toast the health of the whole Hartley Botanic team.

Having been a loyal and frequent customer of Morrison's since their store at Seaburn, Sunderland first opened, I'm quite sad that our association has now ended.
The staff there were always pleasant and friendly, but of course thats the North East for you.
The reason I'm boycoting the store is because I feel cheated and conned out of the 20 Xmas voucher offer.
I'd qualified but misunderstood the wording of the scheme and had only kept my 'debit card' till receipt as proof of puchase. The 'rules' just told you to keep the qualifying weeks 'receipts' and didnt make it clear that by 'receipt' they meant the whole itemised lists of the groceries bought (or till roll) as most of us customers would describe it.
Its no consolation but I'm not the only one to find themselves cheated in this way, the staff have had to deal with furious customers all week, some of them very abusive.
Also my phone call to their 'customer services' dept was an absolute waste of time and money.
The young man who eventually answered was possibly a school leaver & clearly completely untrained in customer services. He obviously couldn't have cared less so I've decided to adopt the same attitude.
Probably its done me a favour in the long run, I'm still very angry but if my 70 - 80 a week custom means so little to them then I shall spread it around from now on.

It isn't a problem for me to buy daily elswhere, there are shops a lot nearer to me than Morrisons and it will probably save me money too because I'll think twice and waste less.

Parcelforce Worldwide takes absolutely no pride in delivering a package on time or in customer concerns. My sister sent me a Christmas package on 18 Dec. It was finally delivered on 10 Jan. I was not in and Parcelforce then confirmed 2 redeliveries with me. I made it a point to stay home all day, twice, and it was never delivered.

I sent a query to customer service the first time it was supposed to be redelivered and it was not answered. After the second time, I spent the time trying to navigate its phone system (which just tries you to get to use the website) and spoke to a representative. He told me the package could never be redelivered because they left it at a post office 1 mile from my flat and I would be charged 50p to pick it up there!

I asked why then did they confirm two redeliveries with me if they didn't intend to redeliver the package? He said he didn't know. I asked why my customer service complaint wasn't answered. He said he didn't know. I asked why they spent it to the post office even though I didn't authorize it. He said they are 'allowed' to. I asked to speak to his manager. He said 'ok, wait.' Then he he came back and said 'hello?' And I said, 'it is still you.' He said 'i am my manager now.'

I can't fathom the incompetency within this company. I can't believe they've left me waiting over one month for a package and expect me to go out of my way to pick it up AND spend extra money doing it.

I asked that they pick up the package from the post office and redeliver it to my flat. He said they are not allowed to do that. They are a pickup and delivery service for crying outloud!

At all costs avoid these fools. If you ever get your package the costs will be far higher than you ever expected.
