Absolutely shocking customer service - please I implore you not to order from this company no matter how cheap it may be.
They have over £150 of my money for dead, diseased plants. They were in transit for more than 8 days squished into a box where they arrived dry as a bone and could not be revived. Some were pushed so tightly in they were broken in pieces because they were too tight to pay for a bigger box. One box looked like someone had played football with it.
I've emailed, tweeted and used their awful online ticket system. They've had photo evidence they ignore. They've told me their gardening expert says the plants are weathered and won't let me dispute that and expect me to send back all the plants at my own cost even thought they are completely dead and they don't respond for days so how do I trust them? I've sent almost 30 photos for their review. I've reported them to local trading standards, essex trading standards and BBC watchdog. I'll now be taking legal action.

Ordered plants. 6 weeks later still nothing. No answers one mail, phone or Facebook other than automated message. Lodged a complaint with our bank who refunded the money

Made an order of over £100. They never delivered it, and they never replied to any of my emails concerning the order. Trying to call them is a waste of time, no-one there answers the phone. They finally responded when I took my queries to their facebook page, but they deleted my post and blocked me even though all I was doing was repeatedly asking for a refund as they were refusing to give me one based on the fact that I had more than one customer service ticket (whatever that means). Do not waste your time and money with them.

Wish I'd found these reviews before I bought via GROUPON. Just been ripped off by them. Plants arrived broken and damaged in poor packaging 1 on top of the other. Cost £35. Seen better quality more alive ones in Aldi for £1.99 at the weekend. Contacted customer services for new packaging to return they've taken 10 days to reply so they can try and get out of the 14 day refund policy. Am thoroughly disgusted. If I'd known I would never have bought. Plants were supposed to be 90cm and trees in medium pots. Plants arrived damaged and with broken branches and barely 50cm. Not anything like on the website. AVOID.

Please, please, please do NOT waste your money with this appalling excuse for a 'company', all of the negative reviews on this site are absolutely accurate and I believe all of the positive 'customer testimonials' left on the 'Gardening Express' website were probably written either by people who work for the company, or friends and family of those who work for the company. I only wish I had done a bit of research on 'Gardening Express' before placing an order with them via Groupon (which by the way must be the only way these con artists drum up any business whatsoever). I placed an order for 6 Hebe Evergreens via Groupon and paid �24.99 for these plants (that apparently had an original value of �74.95) what an absolute joke! 5 instead of 6 very sorry looking, sparse plants arrived some 11 days after placing my order, looked absolutely nothing like expected, and were half dead! These plants were in terrible condition, however looking at the state of the battered and torn box they arrived in, this didn't come as a surprise. Alarm bells should've rung out loud when I contacted 'Gardening Express' via telephone 10 days after placing my order to find out when my order was to be dispatched, after having heard nothing from them or Groupon about my order. I got through to somebody who sounded like they had no idea what they were talking about and someone who also was rather rude! This was simply supposed to be a straightforward call to find out when my order would be dispatched- I don't think it's unreasonable to call to enquire over a dispatch date some 10 days after placing an order, having heard nothing. Although, looking at the other reviews on here, it seems that's a very short period of time, when there is clearly people on here that have been waiting months and months for their order from Gardening Express, and still received nothing. When I called Gardening Express they couldn't give me a definitive answer as to when my order would be dispatched, I kept being told I was going to be put on hold, but was actually transferred from advisor to advisor, before finally speaking to a gentleman (named Nigel) who told me (and I quote verbatim) to "simmer down"! Not quite the customer service one might expect. Although he was extremely rude and patronising he was able to give me a definitive answer as to when my order would be despatched... The order arrived the day after in the aforementioned state. Once again I got onto the phone to 'Gardening Express', trying to explain the state of what I had received. The individual I spoke to (Chantel) clearly couldn't be bothered listening to what I had to say and was extremely rude to me before hanging up on me! In absolute disbelief, I called straight back to speak to a 'Manager', and I use that term very loosely, for he behaved nothing like a manager, his name was Chris- he wouldn't listen to me at all, kept interjecting, was also very rude, then also hung up on me! I was nothing but pleasant and polite on the telephone, and in no way aggressive or acting in a manner that might warrant this sort of response. I got off the phone in absolute disbelief! Not only at the shoddy, substandard products that had arrived, but at the way I'd been spoken to by not just one, but ALL of the advisors at Gardening Express, I cannot believe that anyone would speak to customers the way these guys do, but that is Gardening Express, they are obviously a complete sham of an outfit, and seem set up only to rip people off. I have got nowhere complaining to them, so have escalated the matter with Groupon, and I am also beginning legal proceedings against Gardening Express, out of sheer principle. Gardening Express should not be allowed to treat people in the way they do, and send out absolutely sub standard products, but if more people don't do something about this they will continue to trade, and rip people off, DON'T let it happen to you- these people are the rudest, most incompetent bunch of idiots I have ever dealt with- please believe the negative reviews you have read, these rogue traders will cause you a lot of heartache. I am only glad I spent a small amount of money with them and thankfully not hundreds of pounds like some of the poor reviewers on here. Take heed.

I purchased a set of bay trees towards the end of summer. They arrived quickly and were in excellent condition.
The discription on the website is accurate and the delivery driver was extremely friendly.

Fantastic customer service all the way! I am actually pleasantly suprised with how sharp the delivery was also. Usually one to get impatient having to wait around but not the case with this company. Will defo recommend to friends and family! Call me green fingered haha :)

Gardening Express? No: no express delivery and no delivery of the product for which we paid.
We saw an offer for a Prunus Dulcis Flowering & Fruiting Almond Nut Tree. We decided to buy two as the description stated that they would be delivered at a height of 150-160 cm. They took 19 days to arrive and when they did arrive they were less than a metre tall and carried a plant label stating them to be 'mini' trees. On telephoning to complain I spoke with a young lady who, when I asked for her name, claimed she was called [Claire]. She said that she would arrange for two of the correct trees to be sent free of charge, and that they would be delivered within 7-10 working days. I asked how to return the mini trees and she told me to keep them as it was the company's fault that the incorrect items were sent.
17 days later and no replacements. When I phoned to enquire about the whereabouts of the goods that I originally paid for on the 1st September (a month and a half ago) the young lady, when I asked for her name, claimed to be called [Jane]. She went away from the telephone to check the situation and came back and told me that her name was now [Claire] and that when she checked with her boss after my last call 3 weeks ago, he told her they were the right ones. I asked to speak with that boss and she automatically said he was on the 'phone (without even checking). I said I would hold on the telephone for him. She then came back and said he was in a meeting. Really??? One very angry customer. I asked her to make her mind up: was he on the 'phone or in a meeting? She said there was nothing she could do. I asked her to tell him that he is guilty of fraud having taking money and not supplied what was stated on the product description.

Producing Gorgeously sweet nuts, and attractive Spring Blossom, these trees will start fruiting within just one or two seasons, and should be producing bucketfulls after year 3. Once they start producing, they can continue for upto 50 years! The almond tree is a small to medium sized tree with a spreading, open canopy, leaves are three- to four-times longer than they are wide, with finely serrated margins. Almond flowers are nearly identical to peach and other Prunus flowers, but are more fragrant and tend to be either light pink or white. Almonds do best in deep, well-drained soil that is reasonably fertile. We recommend planting at least two trees for best pollination and cropping.
Easily grown in the open garden, or a large patio planter, these trees are proper established specimens when delivered. Supplied at a total height of around 150-180cms (5ft) tall, these trees have a nice straight trunk, and are starting to form a canopy of branches and lush foliage and should start producing nuts within the first year of planting. Really something special.

Clearly we are not going to get our money back nor are we going to get what we paid for since 'the boss' is hiding and will not speak to us and the young lady is not empowered to take any action on customer orders.

I wont bore you with the exact details of my order, but here are is a brief summary.
I ordered 2 hanging baskets via Groupon on 24th September with a delivery of 7 working days. After 9 working days I called Groupon, Yodel, and Gardeningusless several times and got nowhere. I eventually spoke to someone at Gardeningusless who assured me that my baskets would arrive by last Saturday. Yesterday Groupon told me that my baskets hade been delivered to London. I live in the West Midlands ?????? I emailed Gardenusless this morning stating all of the above, and asked for a new delivery date. The reply via email was talk to Groupon not us. I will never buy anything from these idiots again. If you want to send money to someone and get sod all in return please send it to me and not this shower of compost

Order of 4 acer trees never arrived after 6 weeks from purchase of Groupon voucher. Groupon says they consider Gardening Express a trustworthy company and they do a lot of advertisement of their deals, despite the high number of complaints found all over the internet and Trading Standards. I'd think twice!!

Order came quicker than expected, and all was present, correct and in good condition. plants were good quality, and will definitely use them again

I ordered 4 fuchsia trees through groupon which were meant to be 90 cm. When they were delivered they were very samll, in poor condition and UPSIDE DOWN! I tried to call Gardening Express but they never answer their phone. I used their online customer service system to report this problem and it took them 3 weeks to respond. When they did respond, they left a message for me on their system that said they were sorry they'd had a problem with their online system and they "assumed that my complaint had been resolved"!!!!! I will keep on trying to contact them but I am now contacting Groupon in an attempt to get a refund! I wish I'd looked at the review sites before ordering as it's plain to see that they are not a reputable company. I am now going to make a complaint to Trading Standards and put warnings on all the review sites I can find so that other people don't have the same problem.
